Recital at Festival Integrales at Teatro Colón

I just returned from Buenos Aires, Argentina, where I spent five days and performed a solo concert on the CETC’s Festival Integrales at the Teatro Colón. This festival has been in existence for a few years and each concert involves an immersion in a particular composer’s or group of composers’ works. The three concerts in this year’s festival focused on the flute music of Salvatore Sciarrino, the piano music of Tristan Murail, and for my concert, violin music by great American modernists of the last half-century or so. My program: Stefan Wolpe’s “Piece in Two Parts”, Elliott Carter’s “Four Lauds”, Mario Davidovsky’s “Synchronisms No. 9 for violin and electronic sounds” and Roger Sessions’ “Sonata for Violin”.  It was a great honor for me to perform at the Teatro and to bring the music of these important American artists to the audience there – at least a couple of the pieces were probably Argentine premieres. Thank you to my very warm hosts and wonderful listeners. Here are some photos, by composer Diego Tedesco or by me:
