Limin’ by Stewart Goodyear

I’m delighted to be playing a new work by pianist Stewart Goodyear for violin and piano, called Limin’ .  Following up on Solo, the solo suite for violin that he wrote for me a few years ago, he had the idea to compose and play Limin’, a 9-movement piece evoking scenes in the Caribbean. “Liming” means “to hang out in the community” in Trinidad, where Stewart’s mom was from.

After premiering parts of the piece at National Sawdust in 2024, we recorded the complete work last year at Oktaven Studio and performed it last month at Lincoln Center’s Rubinstein Atrium on AMOC’s Up Close series.

Limin’ will be released soon on Avie Records.
